With so much going on in the sporting world, the London 2012 Summer Olympics snuck up on us. With only 72 hours until the opening ceremonies, the hype is starting to build and some of the top names in fashion are hoping to make at big splash as their kits debut at the Olympic Stadium. MG covered the Jamaica kit by Cedella Marley here and she nailed it. They are the clear fashion fave for gold heading into London 2012.
Nothing else piqued our interest until we saw this stellar jacket designed by Bogner for team Germany’s formal wear. At first glance, the nylon jacket looks like a nylon jacket but…wait for it…it’s not only reversible, but also turns into a navy blazer! Outstanding stuff from a fashion family who invented “stretchy pants.”
With worries about the London weather threatening to put a damper on the Games, Bogner has it all figured out. Nylon jacket for rain? Check. Scarf for biting wind and cold? Check. Navy blazer to hit the Olympic parties? Check. Who says you have to choose between fashion and function? Leave it to the Germans to realize you can have both.
