Euro 2012: Semi-Final Showdowns

After the quarter-final weekend, let’s look back at our knockout stage predictions. Drum roll please…a tidy 3-1 record. Our only misstep was the Italy vs. England match, but in our defence, we did predict a close game decided, in the end, by penalties. If it wasn’t for the Ashley and Ashley blunders, England could have moved on. More importantly though, every haircut we featured last week advanced to the semi-finals.

Cristiano Ronaldo and his hair gel lived up to our hype—it seems Bar Refaeli is not a fan, however—sending Portugal one step closer to the final. Unfortunately, his reward is a date with the defending World Champions, Spain.  Ronaldo has been stellar so far, but Spain has too much depth.

As we predicted, Germany destroyed Greece and will now face-off with Italy in the other semi-final. The Germans are led by the inspired play of Mesut Ozil and his perfect part and the team’s flawless play will spell the end of the Azzurri at Euro 2012.

Basketball Farewell:

With the NBA Finals now over (yes, we’re still depressed over OKC’s loss to LeBron James, errr, the Miami Heat), we leave you for another season with one last bball hoorah, Who is Uncle Drew?
