I have yet to see the new Olympic-themed issue of U.S. Vogue live as I am still in Poland and everything moves at a slightly slower pace here, but I’ve been browsing the images online and although they’re pretty typical American Vogue, they’re worth checking out. The cover, featuring Olympians Hope Solo, Ryan Lochte and Serena Williams, is underwhelming but as you can tell from our “about” page, we have a soft spot for Vogue covers with male athletes. Lochte is the fourth man to grace the fashion bible’s cover and the second male athlete after LeBron James.
Inside, the Annie Leibovitz editorial is typical Annie but lovely with model Karlie Kloss and a handful of male athletes. (It turns out, I’m not doing a very good sell job. Sorry.)
On the other hand, Ariel Levy’s piece in The New Yorker about women’s boxing and Olympic hopeful Claressa Shields is overwhelmingly good. Take the time to read it here.
See you at home soon.
