London’s Fashion Games

While the big news yesterday for most media outlets was that there are only 100 days to go until the London Olympics, here at GoS, we like to be different. So, only 99 days left to go until the Olympics!  In honour of the big day, we’d like to recap some of the outfits, and big designer names, you’ll be seeing in a few short months on the catwalk at the Games.

As you might remember, we had mixed feelings about what Canadian athletes will be wearing courtesy of the Hudson Bay Company, and unlike most of the world, we liked Stella McCartney’s GB kits.

Earlier this month, Prada announced their sponsorship of the Italian national sailing team for the Olympic and Paralympic games (image above) and fellow Italian native Giorgio Armani will be designing the uniform for the Italian Olympic team.

The US Olympic and Paralympic teams have again enlisted Ralph Lauren to design the outfits; Azerbaijan’s Olympic team will be wearing a kit designed by Italian label Ermanno Scervino; and Bob Marley’s daughter, designer Cedella Marley teamed up with Puma to create Jamaica’s uniforms.

No offense to The Bay and its red mittens, but how cool would the Canadian team look in kits designed by Erdem, Rad Hourani or Jeremy Laing.
