Headlines are hard to write. For some writers/editors, it comes naturally and they have no problem coming up with witty and fresh heds/heads. For others, myself included, it’s not always so easy, so I try not to be quick to judge. But this time, I’ve given it a lot of thought and feel it’s the right time to reach out to magazines everywhere and ask them to please stop using “Game On” for every sports-inspired fashion editorial headline.

In addition to the, Terry Richardson’s portfolio above for Harper’s Bazaar, FASHION, W and SCMP Style Magazine via Fashion Gone Rogue have all used the hed recently.

Like Leonard Cohen, who asked for a temporary moratorium on new versions of “Hallelujah,” I ask the same of “Game On.” (I like to throw in Cohen references whenever I can.)
