Over the weekend, online retailer Net-a-Porter did a cool round-up of sportswear pieces you can wear at night. Although there were a few too many neon items (neon doesn’t always have to mean sporty), Sports After Dark, included a mix of expected clothing designers (Alexander Wang, Michael Kors) with some unexpected accessories by Maison Martin Margiela and Eddie Borgo.
But let’s talk about the Karl Sabine PVC shorts for a moment (see above). The product description reads: “This boxer-inspired pair are perfect for channeling the sports-luxe trend – style them with a statement tee and bronzed legs for a winning after-dark look.” I’m all for sports-inspired fashion (obviously) but boxer-inspired shorts made of PVC go too far. The same goes for gym-inspired shorts made of leather and sweatsuit blazers (see below). It’s like wedge sneakers all over again.
